After the recent run of foul weather
which put paid to out have-a-go's at Bloxham and Tewkesbury, a small
but select band turned out for the Westcott summer open shoot and,
amazingly, the weather was warm and sunny. Westcott is a compact
course, but once again the course setters had used the terrain well to
create some original and challenging targets. The racoon (see below)
and the rats were particularly good. And there was the added bonus of a
beer afterwards (see below for proof). And team Windrush acquitted
themselves very well. Mark came away with a silver in HT, and Dan and
Kieran came first and second respectively in HT cub. The longbowmen
were sadly way down the list. Ian never quite recovered from blanking
the first two targets, and consequently didn't cane Mike by anything
like the usual margin!
You can also download a short
movie
of Ian in action. This is in Windows Media video format (.wmv) and
should play on most Windows platforms. If your computer can't deal with
this this type of file, please contact the webmaster who will send it
you in a suitable format.
