If the weather reports were anything to go by, it was a competition of two halves - a wet one and a dry one which, considering it was Cumbria, was quite good going. A wet one and a wetter
one is quite common.
Rebecca lost her phone out on the course somewhere. Fortunately it was switched on so the obvious thing was to ring it and hope someone heard it and didn't dismiss it as
ringing in the ears. As it happened it was Hitch who decided it wasn't compacted earwax and returned it to its rightful owner.
The Windrush folk were a credit to the club, posting very respectable scores against national opposition. Special mention must go to Hitch who beat John to come seventh overall in gent's AFB,
but the star of the show was Tom H. who beat all comers to become National Champion in junior boy's HT. It deserves capital letters. That was a pretty special performance.
