Herstmonceux Medieval Festival 2009

Our second Herstmonceux festival and this time it was WAR! When some men get a taste for blood, there's no stopping them. In fact, just about everyone got in on the act. As well as Ian, Guy, Jonathan, Simon and Mike taking part in the battles, Stella, Matt, Sue, Sureya and Dan got to play refugees in the siege of the castle. Oh and in amongst all that the Windrush Free Company ran the have a go and made a few extra pennies for the club.

This time there was serious cooking with the Windrush witches cauldron pressed into service for only the second time. It's amazing what you can create in a big iron bucket. Thanks to Colin and Stella for masterminding the catering and a special mention for Jay for the rice. Guy, our semi-tame woodsman, took care of the fire. There was no chance it wasn't going to light.

Entertainment was provided by Ian, Sue and Mike. We must have been ok because some chap who walked past actually recognised what we were playing! Next time we promise to learn more tunes.

We must be doing something right because the nice Herstmonceux people have invited us back for a third time.

Thanks as always to family and friends who helped out: Stella, Matt, Jay, Jonathan, James, Elizabeth and Melissa.
